What Is Auto-Publishing?
Auto-publishing determines how verified reviews are handled when submitted via an SMS link:
Finding the Setting
1. Navigate to Customer Reviews
In the Services section, click on the Customer Reviews tab, then select the Manage Reviews sub-tab.
2. Locate Auto-Publish Setting
At the top of the Manage Reviews section, find the Auto-publish verified reviews toggle.
When to Use Auto-Publishing
Turn It ON If:
- ✅ You trust your customers' feedback
- ✅ You want reviews to appear quickly
- ✅ You send review requests to known customers
- ✅ You don't have time to manually approve each review
What customers see:
"Your review has been submitted and published. Thank you!"
Turn It OFF If:
- ✅ You want to review everything first
- ✅ You're concerned about inappropriate content
- ✅ You prefer full editorial control
- ✅ You want to respond before publishing
What customers see:
"Your review has been submitted and will be published after approval. Thank you!"
What Auto-Publishing Affects
Note: Public form submissions always require manual approval to protect against spam.
Changing the Setting
Toggle the switch to change the setting:
- ON - Verified reviews go live immediately
- OFF - All reviews require approval
These changes apply only to new reviews. Existing published reviews will remain published.
Best Practices
Start with Auto-Publish ON
Most businesses find this effective since you control who receives review requests.
Monitor Regularly
Even with auto-publish, check your reviews weekly to ensure quality.
Switch to OFF if Issues Arise
If you encounter problematic reviews, switch to manual approval.
Remember: You're in Control
You decide who gets review requests, thus controlling who can leave verified reviews.
Removing Published Reviews
If a review should not have been published:
- Find the review in the Manage Reviews sub-tab.
- Use the options to unpublish or delete the review.
- Contact support if you need further assistance.
Legitimate negative reviews are usually best left visible, as they demonstrate authenticity and give you a chance to respond professionally.
