Enabling Search Engine Indexing

Category: SEO Settings

Make your website visible in search results by enabling search engine indexing.

Where to Find This

Navigate to Services → SEO Settings tab.

What Is Indexing?

Indexing allows search engines like Google to find and display your website in search results.

  • Enabled: Your site can appear in search results, making it easier for customers to find you.
  • Disabled: Your site won't appear in search results; only those with a direct link can access it.

Requirements

Before enabling indexing, ensure you meet these requirements:

RequirementWhy It's Needed
3+ pagesIndicates your site has substantial content
Active subscriptionTrial sites are not indexed
Complete business infoIncludes phone, email, and business type
Defined service areasAt least one area where your business operates

Steps to Enable Indexing

1. Access SEO Settings

  • Go to Services → SEO Settings tab.

2. Open Indexing Settings

  • Click on the SEO & Indexing sub-tab.

3. Review Requirements

You'll see a checklist indicating which requirements are met:

  • ✅ Green tick = requirement met
  • ❌ Red cross = action needed

4. Complete Any Missing Requirements

If you see a red cross:

  • Need more pages?
Go to Services → Website Editor tab and create additional pages.

  • Need business info?
Go to Services → Business Information sub-tab and fill in missing fields.

  • Need service areas?
Add at least one service area in the Business Information sub-tab.

5. Enable Indexing

Once all requirements show green, toggle Enable SEO Indexing to ON.

6. Save Your Settings

  • Click Save Changes to apply the updates.

What Happens Next?

After enabling indexing:

  1. Your sitemap updates: Search engines are notified about your pages.
  2. Google discovers you: This process can take from days to weeks.
  3. You start appearing: Gradually, your site shows up in relevant searches.

Note: SEO is a gradual process. It may take weeks or months to see significant results.

Checking Your Status

In the SEO & Indexing sub-tab, you can see:

  • When indexing was enabled
  • Your current subscription plan
  • Any unmet requirements

Disabling Indexing

To hide your site from search engines:

  1. Go to Services → SEO Settings tab → SEO & Indexing sub-tab.
  2. Toggle indexing to OFF.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Note: It may take time for search engines to remove your site from results after disabling.

Tips for Better Search Rankings

  • Keep content fresh: Regularly update your pages with new content.
  • Use descriptive page titles: Ensure each page title is clear and unique.
  • Add business information: Complete profiles tend to rank better.
  • Be patient: SEO improvements take time to show results.
