Adding Your Custom Domain

Beginner5 minutes

Title: Adding Your Custom Domain
Category: custom-domains

Replace your platform subdomain with your own professional domain name.

Pro Plan Feature: Custom domains require a Pro plan subscription.

Where to Find This

Services → Custom Domain tab

What You'll Need

  • A Pro plan subscription
  • A domain you own
  • Access to your domain's DNS settings

Steps

1. Go to Domain Configuration

Navigate to Services and click on the Custom Domain tab.

2. Enter Your Domain

In the Domain Name field, enter your custom domain. This can be a subdomain or a root domain.

Examples:

  • booking.yourbusiness.com (subdomain)
  • www.yourbusiness.com (www subdomain)
  • yourbusiness.com (root domain - check with support)

3. Get Your DNS Records

After entering your domain, you will see DNS records that need to be added to your domain's DNS settings:

TypePurpose
TXTProves you own the domain
CNAMEPoints traffic to your website

Copy these records for the next step.

4. Add Records to Your DNS

Log into your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap) and add the DNS records as instructed. Refer to the next article for detailed instructions.

5. Wait for DNS Propagation

DNS changes can take up to 60 minutes to propagate across the internet. This is normal.

6. Verify Your Domain

Return to the Custom Domain tab and click Verify DNS Configuration. If verification succeeds, your SSL certificate will be provisioned automatically, which may take 15-30 minutes.

Domain Status

After adding your domain, you will see one of these statuses:

StatusWhat It Means
Pending DNSWaiting for you to add DNS records
ProvisioningDNS verified, SSL being created
ActiveDomain is live and working
FailedSomething went wrong - check DNS records

Removing a Domain

To remove your custom domain:

  1. Go to Services → Custom Domain tab
  2. Click Remove Custom Domain
  3. Confirm the removal

Note: If you have an email domain set up, you'll need to remove that first.

Troubleshooting

Verification failing?

  • Double-check DNS records are exactly as shown
  • Wait the full 60 minutes for propagation
  • Some registrars are slower - wait up to 24 hours

SSL not provisioning?

  • Verify DNS is correct
  • Wait up to 30 minutes after verification
  • Contact support if it takes longer

Want to change domains? Remove the current domain first, then add the new one.
